Cabin RIB - Protector III
On the 19th May 2021, North Eastern IFCA took delivery of a 9.5 metre cabin RIB, Protector III. Protector III was built and delivered by the Delta Power Group UK in 2021 and is designed to act as a standalone, fast, intercept patrol craft. Protector III is a 9.5m cabin rigid inflatable boat (RIB) powered by twin diesel jet drives and capable of a top speed of 35 knots.
The vessel carries a range of high specification navigational and communication equipment and can operate safely in a variety of weather conditions up 60 nautical miles from shore.
The build contract with Delta Power Group was formally signed off and the build commenced on the 13th October 2020. Despite periodic impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic, the build progressed well, by March 2021, the main super structure was complete and work on the internal fit out was underway, including wiring, ancillary pipe work and electronics. During the early part of May, the vessel was transported to Southampton for Sea Trails and delivered to its home port of Whitby on the 19th May 2021.
