As of today 14th March 2025, both vessels, MV Stena Immaculate and MV Solong remain in a stable condition and are currently treated as a crime scene undergoing investigations led by the Humberside Police.
There have been no reports of any resulting, visible pollution. Both vessels remain secure, afloat and on even keel and awaiting further investigation and assessment before salvage operations will begin. The 1km exclusions zone around both vessels remain in force for the safety of the ongoing operations. Currently, outside the exclusion zone there are no fishing restrictions in place.
NEIFCA officers remain actively involved in the multi-agency response alongside colleagues from Defra, Cefas, Eastern IFCA, the MMO, EA and MCA and we will continue to update as and when information becomes available. CEFAS led environmental monitoring plans are in place and sampling has already commenced, with NEIFCA officers actively involved in collection.
Over the next weeks, we will be in contact with relevant fishing vessels who regularly operate in the collision area to obtain further shellfish samples for testing. If you have any further questions regarding this incident, please contact us by email ne-ifca@eastriding.gov.uk.
