As of today 19th March 2025, both vessels, MV Stena Immaculate and MV Solong remain in a stable condition and all fires and hotspots on the MV Solong have now been extinguished. Both vessels are currently being assessed by the salvors and to date there are no undue concerns regarding their stability, strength and structural integrity.
Plastic nurdles and fire debris originating from the MV Solong have been found ashore along the Norfolk and Lincolnshire coast. A shoreline clean-up is in operation with the support of specialised emergency response teams. Together with the MMO and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, NEIFCA officers are actively monitoring the Holderness Coast for any plastic and fire debris wash ups.
