Welcome
to the North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority

From rugged chalk cliffs full of nesting seabirds to rocky reefs teeming with crabs and lobsters, the marine environments of the North East coast of England are amongst the best examples in the UK. Our seas support the livelihoods of local commercial fishermen and their communities and provide a destination for hobby fishers targeting fish and shellfish.

NEIFCA is responsible for the sustainable management of fisheries and fisheries activities, including Marine Protected Areas, out to a distance of six nautical miles.
