2026 Commercial Permit

Please use the link below to apply for the 2026 Commercial Permit on the NEIFCA portal. You will need to create a log in which can then be used to access your permit at any time:

If you already have access to the portal and would like to add a new vessel, please log in and select 'New Application' on your portal home page.

Renewing an existing permit

For renewals, you will need to use your existing log in for the portal to access your current permit.  

PLEASE NOTE, you can only renew your commercial permit when the window for renewals is open.

Any changes to your vessel or vessel owner need to be reported to the NEIFCA office on 01482 393515 or ne-ifca@eastriding.gov.uk.

It is your responsibility to ensure the details on your permit are correct, failure to do so will invalidate the authority of your permit.

Important Information

It is the owners and skippers responsibility to ensure that they conform to the Authority’s byelaws. Any person or persons breaching the Authority’s byelaw regulations could upon conviction, be fined up to a maximum of £50,000 per offence.

XXVIII Shellfish Permit Byelaw and Flexible Permit Conditions

In this first year no charge will be levied for your permit but from the 1 January 2027 the following charges will apply:

Applications up to 250 pots - £50 per annum

Applications up to 500 pots - £150 per annum

Applications up to 750 pots - £250 per annum

Applications up to 1000 pots - £350 per annum

PLEASE NOTE - The holder of this permit, shall provide to the Authority, a monthly return showing accurate information regarding weight in kilograms of lobster, crab, velvet crab and whelk, taken from within the district during the preceding calendar month, together with information on the types and number of fishing gear employed and the area fished and any other information which the Authority regards as necessary. Failure to provide this information could invalidate your permit.
