Important Information
It is the owners and skippers responsibility to ensure that they conform to the Authority’s byelaws. Any person or persons breaching the Authority’s byelaw regulations could upon conviction, be fined up to a maximum of £50,000 per offence.
XXVIII Shellfish Permit Byelaw and Flexible Permit Conditions
In this first year no charge will be levied for your permit but from the 1 January 2027 the following charges will apply:
Applications up to 250 pots - £50 per annum
Applications up to 500 pots - £150 per annum
Applications up to 750 pots - £250 per annum
Applications up to 1000 pots - £350 per annum
PLEASE NOTE - The holder of this permit, shall provide to the Authority, a monthly return showing accurate information regarding weight in kilograms of lobster, crab, velvet crab and whelk, taken from within the district during the preceding calendar month, together with information on the types and number of fishing gear employed and the area fished and any other information which the Authority regards as necessary. Failure to provide this information could invalidate your permit.
