Recreational Shellfish Permit
Please use the link below to apply for a new Recreational Shellfish Permit on the NEIFCA portal. You will need to create a log in which can then be used to access your permit at any time:

If you already have access to the portal and would like to apply for a Recreational Shellfish Permit, please log in and select 'Apply for a Permit' on your portal home page.
PLEASE NOTE - there will be no charge for a 2026 permit - a charge of £10 will be required upon renewal in 2027.
Please allow 2 weeks from the time of application to receiving your permit - this may increase at peak times of the year.
Renewing an existing permit
PLEASE NOTE, you can only renew your Recreational Shellfish Permit when the window for renewals is open.

It is the permit holders responsibility to ensure that they conform to the Authority’s byelaws. Any person or persons breaching the Authority’s byelaw regulations could upon conviction, be fined up to a maximum of £50,000 per offence.
